Sanpada: 9 sectors were developed after CIDCO allotted plots here in 1998 (sector 1, 13, 14, 15, 16, 16A, 17, 18, 19) that presently houses a population of about 40,000 and with 1000 more apartments to be built, the traffic congestion at the Moraj junction during office time and school time has become a cause of great inconvenience and concern for the citizens.
Dashrath Bhagat has been representing the ward since 2000. In the 2015 civic polls, ward nos. 77 and 78 constituting these 9 sectors came to be represented by Vaijyanti Dashrath Bhagat and Rupali Nishant Bhagat respectively and under the guidance of Dashrath Bhagat and Nishant Bhagat, had prepared a Power-Point Presentation with the help of an architect at their own cost and showed it to the civic chiefs from time to time, indicating the magnitude of the problem and the need to have a subway below the Palm Beach road, to resolve the same.
However, the COVID-19 pandemic put a brake to this issue. Yet, legislator Ganesh Naik, appreciating the urgency of the problem raised and followed it up at the weekly review meeting with Abhijit Bangar, who approved the project being prepared by architect Aakar Abhinav of ‘The Firm’ and tendered the work and started work on the much-needed infrastructure for the node. The 2-way, 4.5 mts. height, subway will facilitate the movement of fire brigade vehicles, school buses, big ambulances, garbage disposal ghantagadis and others in an emergency.
Expressing gratitude to Abhijit Bangar and Ganesh Naik, the Bhagat family along with the residents were overjoyed at the fulfilment of their election manifesto, when the work of the said subway was approved beside the Kesar Solitaire building in Sector 19. Dashrath Bhagat and Nishant Bhagat have proposed more subways in the node for better connectivity between the node, Vashi railway station and Sanpada station.
