Belapur: CIDCO has conducted a trial run on route of Depot approach Viaduct and Test Track at Taloja Depot on 07th May 2021 which has turned out successful. The metro run on the line ad measuring 850 m during the trial. For safety measures, the speed of the metro was kept low at 65 km per hour. During the occasion, all attendees had efficiently followed COVID protocols led by government.
CIDCO is developing four elevated corridors under Navi Mumbai Metro to make the public transport system of Navi Mumbai more efficient and interconnect different nodes. Trial run of line 1 admeasuring 11.1 kms with 11 stations and a depot at Taloja was conducted successfully. Even in the adverse situation of COVID 19 pandemic, CIDCO has been striving to complete the metro project as soon as possible.
CIDCO has appointed Maha Metro for the fast implementation of line no 1 from Belapur to Pendhar and accordingly on 23rd February 2021 Maha Metro has deployed a team of 20 expert engineers for ground level execution.
After seeking safety certification from Commissioner, Metro Rail Safety (CRMS), the commercial operation between stations 7-11 is scheduled tentatively by the end of December 2021 and between stations 1-6 is scheduled tentatively by the end of December 2022. After the execution of this line, the citizens of Navi Mumbai will experience the environment friendly modern mode of transport and their life will become convenient.
